SilverBarn, a 100% solar powered, steel framed and enclosed structure, is the central component of an off-grid rural ranch project situated on conservation-protected ranch-lands within the Yorkville Highlands Appellation of Mendocino, California.

The land, acquired in 1994 from long-time wilderness and forest advocates, holds a conservation easement and is monitored annually by the Anderson Valley Land Trust.

The main building, designed by Robert Hersey, AIA, and Dan Dodt in 2001, was developed by UNIVERDE as a unique construction, and utilizes materials originally fabricated for commercial and industrial uses applied to a primarily residential setting.

Additional outbuildings, site specific projects  and other developments are on-going.
